This project is currently underway and involves the comprehensive renovation of a seven-bedroom detached residence, carefully curated to elevate both architectural presence and interior experience.
The scope of works includes a full interior refurbishment, with a strong emphasis on refined materiality, bespoke finishes, and carefully coordinated details throughout. At the heart of the home sits the original central staircase, retained as a key architectural feature and thoughtfully enhanced to strengthen its visual impact and sense of arrival within the house.
As part of the external transformation, a new front porch is being introduced to improve proportion, enhance the façade, and create a more defined entrance sequence. The project also includes extensive hard landscaping to both the front and rear of the property, creating structured outdoor spaces while preserving a generous, landscaped garden to the rear for privacy and long-term enjoyment.
The design balances contemporary sophistication with timeless elegance, ensuring the house feels both elevated and enduring. With all major materials approved and procurement underway, works are progressing on site, and further updates will follow as the project continues to unfold.
The house had been extensively renovated approximately two decades ago, however the layout, finishes, and external arrangement had become dated and no longer aligned with the lifestyle of the new homeowners. Certain areas required reconfiguration to improve flow, functionality, and day-to-day use, while retaining the underlying architectural strengths of the building.
These images document the property prior to works commencing, capturing the original condition and establishing a clear point of reference for the transformation now underway.
Demolition works are currently in progress. The house is being carefully stripped back to its structural shell, with all existing finishes, fixtures, and furniture removed.
This phase includes the removal of drop ceilings, floor finishes, non-structural partitioning, and redundant elements that no longer serve the new layout or the clients’ requirements. The process allows the underlying structure to be fully revealed, providing clarity for the next stages of construction and design development.
Recently RELM Interiors designed and fitted this green and pearl onyx tiled bathroom for a master bedroom en suite. The renovation includes a smart toilet and spotlit bath. The shower room on the right includes a walk in shower, crittall shower screen and gold shower fittings.
