Whole-house renovation and loft conversion in Wimbledon
A family house in Wimbledon, renovated from the roof down to the driveway by one RELM team. The work covered a new roof and loft conversion, structural alterations, new interiors throughout, four bathrooms, a kitchen, bespoke joinery made by RELM Bespoke, and a new front and garden.

Roof and loft
The roof was opened up, its structure strengthened with new timbers and new dormers framed in. It was then battened and covered in red clay tiles, with roof windows. The loft became a bedroom suite with dormer windows, a bathroom with a freestanding bath and a walk-in wardrobe.

Structure and interiors
Inside, walls were taken back to the brick, reinforced and re-rendered. New floor joists, insulation and ceilings were installed, and a steel beam was fitted to open up the back of the house. The staircase was given new oak treads and risers.
Bathrooms
Four rooms, each with its own character: onyx-effect tiling with a curved vanity; terrazzo tiling with a backlit mirror; a shower room in stone-effect tiles with black fittings; and the loft bathroom with its freestanding bath.

Shaker-style cabinetry in soft grey with a contrasting island, under-cabinet lighting, a herringbone floor and a roof light.

Wardrobes, drawers and a slatted timber panel fitted to the slopes of the loft, a walk-in wardrobe and drawers built under the eaves, all made in our Chessington workshop.

Outside
The pebbledash front was replaced with smooth render, the porch was rebuilt, and a herringbone block driveway with brick piers was laid at the front, with a slate patio at the back.
